Manufacturers have to do what they can to satisfy emissions. Poor fuel quality, poorly enforced regulations, and a rush to give consumers a product without thorough testing (due to the insane dynamics of the marketplace)....Lead to the premature failure of emissions equipment. Also, poor servicing and a lack of maintenance on the consumer's part could contribute. I think that's why companies are trying to tailor their products to always come back to the dealer. There's a couple of reasons outstanding.
Number 1. They can generate more revenue keeping everything in-house.
Number 2. They know the complete service history of the car, so when it DOES have a problem, they're familiar with all the records...Making it easier to document and solve.
Unfortunately because of how complex legislation has become on vehicles...We're now entering an age where it's just about impossible to own a new vehicle and service it independently of the dealer selling it. This is one small push, and a way for governments to take control of our lives. Part of a globalist push for a New World Order. Even in other countries they're talking about banning certain ICE vehicles from even using their roads in the not-so-distant future. I've heard about this. It's real stupid stuff.
