Man I love my 85 wagon, it's looks, it's feel etc, but the 87 is so smooth with so much more power and handling. I wish I could combine them.

I love my 2012 VW until I have to fix it.

I love my 00 Cummins until I have to drive it long distance.

I love my 84SD most of the time - except when I have to fill at a truck stop and the nozzel doesn't fit.

I love my 78 Datsun Z always. Gotta take the SD parts car apart and move the carcass to get the Z out. Summer is coming!!!!

Except when the government gets involved and makes manufacturers install a DPF...

The 240D is so low tek that ANYTHING is an improvement!

But the only thing as much fun to drive is a first gen VW Bus.

Dad did that when the 64 bus was new. It had an improvement over prior years. The back window was larger and easier to see out of. He had a 59 & 62 bug before the bus. Everyone knew how to shift and get out of a snow drift in Chicago's parallel parking and snow plow pilings between parking and the street.

Glad I learned my lesson and moved south.

Manufacturers have to do what they can to satisfy emissions. Poor fuel quality, poorly enforced regulations, and a rush to give consumers a product without thorough testing (due to the insane dynamics of the marketplace)....Lead to the premature failure of emissions equipment. Also, poor servicing and a lack of maintenance on the consumer's part could contribute. I think that's why companies are trying to tailor their products to always come back to the dealer. There's a couple of reasons outstanding.

Number 1. They can generate more revenue keeping everything in-house.

Number 2. They know the complete service history of the car, so when it DOES have a problem, they're familiar with all the records...Making it easier to document and solve.

Unfortunately because of how complex legislation has become on vehicles...We're now entering an age where it's just about impossible to own a new vehicle and service it independently of the dealer selling it. This is one small push, and a way for governments to take control of our lives. Part of a globalist push for a New World Order. Even in other countries they're talking about banning certain ICE vehicles from even using their roads in the not-so-distant future. I've heard about this. It's real stupid stuff.

It's all you need! Except I don't want to be using ear plugs at 80 mph! Nevertheless, every fair lady has her charms!

That plate in the neck which restrict the nozzle size is removable. Some of those truck pumps push huge volumes so be gentle on when you pull the trigger.

I took one out of a gas tank so I could use it to handle a diesel engine. It's just wedged in there in my 85 SE body. I don't remember how I got it out but I remember it being easy. It won't fall in the tank so go for it if you want to fill at any diesel pump.
