W115 long runner intake install in a 78 W116 300SD

Finally got around to installing the W115 long runner intake in 'Desert Rose'

Clocked the original Garrett turbo and installed 90 degree elbow silicone adapter from turbo outlet to W115 intake manifold.
Installed ceramic coated exhaust manifold that was drilled and tapped for
pyrometer probe and copper collection tube for exhaust pressure sender.
Installed ceramic coated intake manifold with threaded adapters for stock
boost sense line and boost pressure sender.

Temporarily connected a cone filter until I decide where to place an enclosed airbox.
Crankcase vapors and vacuum pump air output connected to turbo air intake tube just like stock.

Still to do: fashion pigtail extension for boost pressure sender wire, connect exhaust pressure gauge and exhaust temperature gauge,
connect oil catch can, run a crankase oil recovery line to the sump, select location for enclosed airbox.

Years ago my initial thinking was to relocate the battery to the trunk to gain room for the air box.
I may be able to find some room under the battery tray or behind the DS headlights.
Will update, with photos, as each of these items get sorted...it may be a while.

For your viewing pleasure here are some photos of the work done to date.
