I am an ex-Porsche owner. My list is pretty short:
1987 911 Turbo - blue/black, bone stock except for a KKK higher boost waste gate. Sold with 190,000 kilometers on 'er, and a file folder 3 inches thick with bills.
1969 911S - red/black, PO added whale tail. Light and agile, missed dearly. Even though it was down on power compared to big inch bruisers, I dusted more than a few V-8 pony cars on mountain roads.
Will another Porsche come to roost? Probably not. Parts and service are outrageously expensive, and build quality is suspect no matter the model or year. I understand Boxsters are getting good reliability reviews, but I know a few owners and all report lots of troubles.
For less money than a base 911, I can buy an new E55 Kompressor. For less money that a new 911 Turbo, I can get an SL55. I'd rather have the MB products in both cases.
Don't even get me started about the Cayenne. Saw my first one in traffic the other day. It's U-G-L-Y. The first Porsche in a long time that made me stare for the WRONG reason. Too bad.
