Aaron,
Quick question about brit cars: I have a 1973 MGB with a terrible idle. It doesn't stay too steady (no vacuum leaks at the gaskets or on the carb body) and I can't really take it completely off cast idle for about 10 minutes, and even then I have it set to idle at just below 1500RPM.
My dizzy vacuum advance diaphragm was leaking so I pulled and plugged the line all together so that now it's only running on centrifugal mechanical advance. Would this have anything to do with my poor idle? I'm pretty sure the carbs (HIF4) are in great condition. I had them looked at and spruced up by the best (Joe Curto). Thanks for the advice.
I really like the TR6. it has such a smooth engine.
Alex
