I always preferred the night/late shifts. I had the seniority to pull a day shift, actually worked if for 3 yrs till I met my wife. Hated ever minute of it.

The day shift folks were I worked were older and typically lazier. We got dumped on daily. I still would not trade shifts. I liked the people I worked with. We humped through it and all helped each other and got it done. We had a really good crew.
