When in school I worked the night shift for a transport company. Good money at the time as it was unionized. Terrible working conditions and I wondered why many of the workers stayed year after year.

I actually got a few things changed and the men seemed to appreciate it. Although I was just one of them. This operation was fairly large and management picked up on the changes. Possibly wondering why nobody had thought of them before.

So they asked me to stay on in another capacity that I had to turn down. This was before deregulation hit the industry.
