A couple of years ago my son and I rented a new Mercedes in Germany. It was a small Diesel that was about as neat a car as I have ever driven. Its driver's side mirror had a small section of the outside edge 'bent' outward just a bit. It gave a lifeside view of the blind spot and on the autobahn at 80mph plus it worked like a charm. We won't see them in the States for at least another 15 years.
