On the other hand you could sell the complete thing as a core and probably get the same coin without having to demonstrate that those parts are worthy.

But, if your transmission is in "good, used condition" and can be used in a car as-is, then sell it whole.

Put an ad on craig's list with a few photos, state the condition and put the link here. Make sure you use the keywords mercedes, m100, 6.3 and both trans and transmission.

There are a few other sites we can cross-post the link to.

Oh, and use cooperative language like "willing to crate and ship world wide". Your buyer might be in Singapore.

Want to ask top dollar?, if it's in drop-in condition, start at a grand, but be prepared to take the 3rd offer you get, which won't hit that number.

If you sell it overseas then check out professional crating companies. Most large cities have a few. They also can ship things for less than you ever could since they can send stuff standby.

A friend of mine sent a fender, which was new, for a 112, to the UK from Oklahoma. The shipping price was $3,500, the standby price was $750. But the buyer was willing to pay the shipping and for rare parts the cost of shipping is something the buyer just has to eat.
