It is a tough decision near the end of life for family pets. Today you can spend thousands with no real results.

How bad are vet bills locally? You cannot get an appointment without you being vetted locally. Or your past experience with them is on file.

You phone in and they say they will call you back every time. I assume that some people never get the call back.

If they are near the end of their natural time. Suffering from age related issues so they can no longer function. I have the vet put them down.

Never enjoyable but to me part and parcel plus a responsibility of owning pets. All of ours usually live their full life out.

Formal policies on mercy killing of humans are firming up and I approve. Suffering beyond a reasonable point has no possible upside to me.
