For the 108 and 109 250se, 300se, 280se, and 6.3 people that metal shield is the big find. They rust through, allowing road spray to crud up their short body electric fuel pump. And those pumps are
very expensive to replace.
So, yeah, it's nice to know the 108 4.5 and I would guess the 3.5 are sources of replacement shields.
