I'm getting ready to sell my 84SD and want to include leather front seat covers from an 86-91 seat with the car. (I searched on the seat PN stamped on the padding but don't have it with me now.) I separated the springs and back. The seat cover came off easily but is attached to the pad. I need the pad and other parts for refurbishing the 85 so have to separate cover and pad.


It looks like the seat is held to the pad with two thin metal rods that run through cloth tunnels sewn into the cover and attached with single use staples/clips. The rods don't apparently slide out and I don't want to tear the cloth.



Has anyone dealt with this?

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.
