I think washers & heat shields are the same critters and the "book" says you need to change them. I bought new nozzles for $20.00 + ea. Its a "no brainer" job. I pop tested them before which showed low and uneven pop off pressure. They are easy to clean in lacquer thinner so you might try that first and you will most likely need to put on new return lines. Have you tried Molly purge. Another thing I would do is advance (toward the block) the injector pump just a smig and see if that helps, if not move it back. Be sure and mark the pump and block with a little chisel mark. Have you checked the chain stretch? You musta, but I gota ask..You did change the fuel filters?
