Eventually the clutch needs to be unplugged. I'd unplug it now at the compressor and see if the fuse blows to rule out a shorted wire to the clutch. Unplug it at the compressor, if the fuse does not blow it is the clutch. If it does blow the short circuit to ground is before the clutch.
