While under my "79" changing oil and checking things out, I SAW those gizmos right there where mk said they would be. Since the engine that I rebuilt came out of my "80" parts car its possible they came from it when I pulled the engine. Anyway its still a mystery as I am almost sure they were down around the underside of the engine. The chassis manual does not show them at all. (at least I couldn't find anything) Thanks all, most of the mystery has been solved and I am not as worried about "left over parts" ...
