As I stated before I buy most my parts from **************
and yes I do get technical support from the owner Kent.

(He has his own repair shop and has been working on MB's for the last 10 years)

I just order his timing chain kit and it came with instructions
for changing the timing chain and how to install the chain tensioner and the tensioner guide rail. ( all this for $ 134)

If you break that down: chain $100
chain tensioner+gasket $ 77
chain guide rail $ 4

at fastlane $181
And if I have any problems I can email Kent and
he will gladly help if he can,and he reply's fairly
fast to the emails.

I rented a chain press tool from performance products
for $36.50 +$9 S&H for three weeks.
The part comes with instructions on how to use it
and they have a customer service Phone# (1-800#)
and they have a parts catalog(free).

They also sell the smaller parts that are hard to find,
like those red botton clips for the exterior trim,
door panel clips, rocker molding clips, rivets for the air intake
(for the plastic panel under the windshield wipers)
and hood stops.

I really like this forum and I'm a member of 3 more
but I also live on at tight budget these days and
every penny I can save means that I can lovingly restore
an other wise doomed 300TD-T wagon.

I work hard every day and the only toy I have is my
wagon but to me and I'm sure many others the world
revolves around $$$$ and if I can save some I won't
hesitate.

Louis.
