If the K&N filter is over-oiled, the oil can contaminate the mass airflow sensor and ruin it. In general I'd recommend sticking with the dry filter, not a K&N. I also believe the performance benefits of the K&N are over-rated, but it can be a cost-effective filter though as it is cleanable and reuseable.
