Contrary to the jokes you hear (from non-owners), they are dependable and economical cars when cared for properly. We have an international lustserve for Yugo owners and admirers,and have listserve members who race their Yugos (and win). A simple 4 cylinder engine, no complicated computer controls. No expensive diagnostic equipment at the dealership! A dream come true for the shade tree mechanic! Low initial cost of purchase, low cost for parts and service, and economical gas milage all in one neat little box! While the less fortunate and uninformed laugh,our small but loyal group drive our Yugos with greatleasure- and laugh all the way to the bank! You think it's a joke? It's not! There really exists a Yugo powered by wood! Due to lack of gasoline at gas stations, our eastern neighbours decided to use WOOD. And that's not all, driving on wood is up to 10 times CHEAPER than driving on gas.
