Question NJ wireless phone service poll

I live in NJ. My Verizon contract is about to expire and I'm checking into other providers since Verizon isn't offering any help in pricing at all when we only use 1/2 of our allotted minutes. I did give them the benefit of the first call.
Other large providers T-Mobile and AT&T are offering $200-300 rebates plus new, free phones. I told verizon this and they didn't seem interested. We're looking at saving at least $200 by switching to another large provider.
If anyone could help out in this decision I'd greatly appreciate it by providing what provider you're with and your experience.
IE. what towns you receive/make calls with no problem vs. towns where you get no reception. I've heard T-Mobile is lousy in Livingston. Any other opinions?
