I have a 1977 123 series 240D. I recently put a 300D (5 cyl) into it and put new 300D springs on the front. Whenever I drive over a bump or go over a "pot hole", there is a loud banging noise from the front end. Four years ago I had the front end mostly rebuilt. Any idea what is causing the banging noise ?
