I've had the lenses off my head lamps before and the only trick to those clips is to try not to chip the glass. Otherwise they are not that hard to pry off. They go back on just as easily and hold just as well as before. I took my lenses off to clean the inside surface and the reflectors. The lights are much brighter now.
