I want to remove my AC condenser; the AC system has been evacuated and the hoses have been disconnected from the condenser already.

I've been told the coolant system needs to be emptied and the radiator removed to get the condenser out. Is this really the case? Can the radiator just be moved out of the way enough to get the condenser out? I imagine the fan might get in the way, but that's more easily removed than the radiator. Any ideas?
