Just at a guess, your current idle control may use the Bosch 'auxiliary air device'. This monitors engine temp and adjusts air bypassing the throttle plate accordingly. It is a thermo-mechanical device which has an electric heater, but does not use any ECU input.

The ICV you are trying to install is a rotary variable air valve which is controlled directly by the ECU. Using this as a replacement would at least involve replacing the ECU and wiring harness, and then there is the issue of the engine speed sensor...

I stress, this is a guess. Posting pics would help clarify for us.
