I have done exactly the same thing on my other car a couple of years ago however it was a much lighter car (I actually replaced the springs this way albeit at the rear where there is more room and less load) and I am not sure that a couple of coathanger would be strong enough to do this. So be very careful. Maybe you can borrow a compressor from your mechanic or from a do-it-yourself shop to be on the safe side. I would think you need all your fingers and most of your facial bones in their original location/position. :-)
