Clean throttle body also.

It is blow-by gases that are recirculated that cause the oily deposits. Look at the plumbing of the IAC and you will find that it can pull air from the valve cover. I found the biggest improvement by cleaning the throttle body. Took off the air flow sensor and fuel distributor as an assembly to get at the throttle body and cleaned it with a rag and carb cleaner. Huge improvement in idle quality.
