My problem is with a 82 300SD, the driver side seat will not move forward or backwards, the motor runs but the seat doesn't move. Same applies to the front and back lift motors on the driver and passenger seats. Additionally, the recline feature of both seats don't work, the motor runs on the driver seat, doesn't run on the passenger seat. Assuming its the switch box on the door (which has broken pegs also), I purchased 2 good ones from the pick-n-pull. Problem is, my cars switch seems to be soldered into place whereas the ones i got (from a 84 300SD) has plugs.

Can the switch be rewired to work with my car?
and
Is the seat rails stripped? If so, can they be replace or will the whole lower section of the seat be replaced?
