Had trouble with these tires. 15,000 miles and one started losing air fast yesterday. It had 12 to 15 cracks (each 1 1/4 inch long) around the edge where the tread lugs meet the sidewall. Closer inspection revealed hundreds of cracks of various sizes at the base of the tread lugs all over the tires.

These tires were just about to come apart. Glad I caught it in the driveway and not on the freeway. I immediately replaced them with Michellin "Harmony" 215 70/14. $83 at Nat'l tire and Battery, $87 at Tire Rack. Very happy so far--car drives better too. Twice in the life of this car (326,000) I have 'cheaped out' on tires. Never again.

If you have these Avid Touring's I suggest you monitor them closely.
