My homemade topsider works fine

I use a 5 gallon plastic bucket and polyethylene tubing (3/8" OD, I think) hooked up to my garage vacuum cleaner. It works great, and has no problem sucking the 15W-50 out of my 1995 E420.

$4 for the bucket, $5 for the tubing, and I used an old metal trash can as an insert to keep the plastic bucket from collapsing under vacuum. ABout 15 minutes is all it takes.

I love not having to remove the lower cover for every oil change - what a pain. It gets every drop out of there too.

I like my homemade version better than the topsider because I have a bout a 4-1/2 gallon capacity. Now I can get 2 oil changes in before I have to empty at the recycling station.
