Solenoid is on the back of the transmission, to the right of the output shaft. It is kinda a two piece job. It has a coil that is black plastic with a single connector and thru the center is what looks like a bolt. This is actually the valve that the coil operates. They do go bad even when they check good electrically. The wire feeding the coil can also go bad. It tends to either get cut/pinched and thus open, or it will short out to the bracket it is tied to. If you sort out the wire, you will blow a fuse when you floor it. If you suddenly have full defrost heat, you have blown the fuse. Either #8 or #14, I can't remember. Not real cheap parts. Fastlane does have them I believe. And yeah, these cars can be real "exciting" to drive without a kickdown.
