disclaimer- first my only experience is with a 380sl, second it is friday so my thinking is suspect.
1) not all cars have two areas to depress (u shape to depress not needed for all cars, some only 1 point to depress-- a strong straight thin thing only needed).
2) click on my id, ericgr. find all posts by me. find the post on changing the tumbler/lock. read the notes.
you need to find the point where the tumble engages. when you find it, you need a strong pusher. per the notes I gave (per 2 above), a flimsy wire will not do it.
