conversion from auto to standard.

This is one conversion that I will be doing myself if I get roundtoit. If you have not removed standard transmission from other car yet try shift length throws. Found on my old 72 250c that they were too long. Decided to someday shorten arms on transmission to reduce throw. Maybe not problem on this newer transmission series. Arms on side of older and newer version transmissions for 240d looked to be different lengths on previous threads so thought would throw this in. But maybe I am wrong. But if so the arms may be interchangeable. And in my opinion the shorter ones reduce length of shift throw.I usually have a coffee while shifting between gears on the old 250c. It did not seem practical to change the fulcrum point or shorten length of shift lever.Yes will lesson mechanical advantage a little but that is really not a problem. As for new parts. Cleaning transmission case and painting with new paint seems to help the mindset if nothing else and give the transmission a treat by changing the fluid. Any opinions? New kid on the block just 62 years old and by the time you get through this note you will be older as well. (you almost always find what you are looking for in the last place you look unfortunatly)
