So it seems, after putting all the data together, the actual proportions are 56% work in thier degree, 44% do not. I really thought more would be working outside of their degree, but had i wanted to do this test properly, I would have needed a sample size over 1200 people, which might have changed the outcome. For a 30 point project whose purpose was just to go through the motions, I think this'll be fine. Thanks for the help!
