I talked with the seller today and found out that about 2 years ago or about 20,000 miles ago the timing chain, guides, vacuum pump, injection pump, oil pump and chain and verious and assorted other things were replaced. I serviced it today along with a transmission service and found nothing out of order. Now the reason I got it cheap was because of a transmission problem (which I knew about). It won't shift out of first gear. I disconnected the kickdown valve (didn't help) and then replaced the valve (didn't healp). The trans pan didn't have any parts or metal or anything. It was as clean as any I have seen but the oil was light brown instead of red which means to me that the pan hadn't been off in a while.
Do you have any thoughts on this trans problem?
I have read where some people have used Trans-X with good success. Any thoughts?
