Last week my Toshiba laptop (w/XP) was locking up, or more accurately, just shutting itself off randomly. I decided to take it apart and vacuum out the accumulated dust on the CPU. It's been working fine since then, with no problems...until I went to use the CD/DVD drive last night. The computer no longer even recognizes the drive, but it will open up and spin for a short spell when a disc is installed. The drive doesn't show up in the My Computer file. I can't find the system restore disc that came with the computer...duh!

Anyone know how I can re-train the unit? TIA
