300D 5-speed gear ratios

I just bought a 1983 300D 5-speed. It is everything a used MB diesel should be - one owner, garaged, 2500 mile oil changes, redline in every tankful, like new interior, AC but no climate control, perfect - not even a door ding- body, original excellent paint, and it was cheap. It is a thrill to drive. The car lacks one thing from being about perfect - a tachometer. So here is my question. Does anyone know the gear ratios on this thing?

All the w123 4 -speeds are (3.90, 2.30, 1.41, 1.00). I suppose that the 5-speed is a 4-speed with an overdrive 5th gear. Does anyone actually know for sure?

Another question - will a 617a turbo engine fit right on this transmission? I think that all I have to do is keep the flywheel from this engine and that's about it and maybe a larger radiator.

Thanks
