W124 blower motor change...
I just changed the blower on our '93 300TE. We do not have a filter. The new motor was 1/8" larger in diameter than the original one. I did have to use the new base. At first I thought the cages would not clear but with the proper base installed and the motor centered the cages turned freely. One thing I noticed was that the motor configuration was different than the original. The electrical connections were on the opposite end. It is important to note which way the vanes are pointed on the original and then make sure the new ones point the same way, regardless of which way you have to position the motor. Mine went in and out with out any trouble. Be sure to check for proper rotation and air velocity before closing everything up.
