The smaller one goes to the thermo vacuum valve, then to the distributor if you have a line on there. Not sure if the 1988 had the vacuum advance or not. Then on the other side of the thermo valve it goes to the drivers side fender well to a connector there for the fuel vapor return. The large one goes to the other side of the fuel vapor canister return as well.
