That way, you can have video outputs and inputs, so you could hook up any kind of screen you wanted to, and any number of screens that you wanted to with the right adapter.
I had a Toshiba Tecra 8000 it ran win98se, had 128megs of ram, something like a 500mghz processor, i think a 10gb harddrive really nothing special, but it could play songs all day, and it had video (composite and vga) outputs. I bought mine used for $110, and sold it 3 years later for $250... Ive seen them cheaper since.

No.. I don't need to have a laptop installed in the car. I don't want something like "pimp-my-ride"... maybe not at the moment atleast
Just something to display the titles from either CD player in the car or an ipod.
