It can be a fuse, but since the problem 'fixed' itself, it is not a 'blown' fuse.

On, and it is not a short, since it is not a 'blown' fuse.

Check the fuses for corrosion, spin them around a few times in the holder to clean it, or replace with a brass fuses.

It can also be dirty contacts in the switches. [EDIT: This applies to a W26, yours may be different] You will have to remove the ashtray, coin holder and center console wood panel along with the switches. From that point, they unplug.
