I did one one week (the worse of the two) and the other a few weeks later. I was able to get remanufactured axles for roughly $60 each. The CV joints are one of the weak points on the subaru's. But $525 sounds a little steep, but you did have the work done at a dealer. The factory trained mechanic my brother takes his car to would only charge about $300 for a similar job.

However I am about ready to give up on my Subaru, it's just not meeting my current needs, and I can get something much larger that gets the same 15 mpg in the city
