There's a quick cheep easy test to see if it belt is squeaking: Pour some water on it while its running. If its the belt that's squeaking it will stop for a few seconds then come back when it dries off. If its a pulley it won't change. And if it is the belt a can of belt dressing can be a cheep temporary fix. Maybe even permanent, $50 plus labor can buy a lot of belt dressing.
