Im not quite sure whats wrong but my backrest(driver side) is stuck on a tilted slant position. _/

When i try to tilt it to the normal driving position, it doesnt move and i hear a gear slipping noise. I belive this is mechanical but i dont know how to get to the gears to fix it or just manually set it to driving position. Its rather hard to drive without a back rest.

Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?
