All I can remember is at some point much later the 230 a four cylinder gas was introduced as well. Their may have been a 200 four cylinder gas before that possibly I believe. Always was a 190 four cylinder gas I think perhaps replacing the 170 and 180 gas as the displacement grew. One difference way back then if you did not feel you wanted to repair the problem yourself even some of the dealers were reasonable for service. Seems to have changed a little bit now. Last year passing through bangor maine stopped by the dealer for price on front wheel alignment and it was 180.00. Customer ahead of me in line was paying around 550.00 to have something in dash changed that struck me as relatively minor at time. Wish of course I still had some of those earlier cars today in the shape they were in back then. Suspect the 250 and 280 six cylinder cars did not appear until mid sixties. Although the 300 series goes back quite a ways I think.

Oh yes, If i remember think gas was five gallons for a dollar in states and three gallons (slightly larger quantity in the imperial gallon) for a dollar in canada. Price remained constant for a lot of years as there was basically no inflation in economy for ten years. Only wages seemed to go up.
