Since I'm down to one (registered) car now -the 82 300CD, every new noise that pops up has me kind of paranoid.
I've been hearing a noise from LF wheel area when turning slightly right at 40mph or so- sounds to me like a FWD CV joint going bad, but, semi-quietly, and twice today I hard a knocking noise for about a second each time (louder than the other noise). I took a look at the front end suspension today when I got home, but didnt see anything out of the ordinary.
The car has all new lower control arm bushings and track rod bushings. The shocks have been on there since I before bought the car (they're aftermarket and semi rusty in spots) and the upper control arms have not been replaced yet (what I was expecting to be bad). I've seen an upper control arm ball joint pull out on my friends car before so I really hope thats not whats going to happen. The joints look alright, the bushings on the other end are still tight against the control arm.
Nevertheless, its still got me worried, any suggestions? Could it be the bearings? I did the rotors so long ago I don't recall what they looked like.
I'm almost contemplating registering my 560 and transferring tags to it so I can drive that, at least I know that car is safe

(and probably cheaper to fill up

)
