Last year for the idle knob was 1979. My '79 300SD has one, my '80 300SD doesn't.

I wish MB would have continued putting the idle knob on their cars. Its nice for charging the battery with the alternator or for more heat in the winter.

Guess you will have to learn "heel and toe" driving.
