Actually you should just leave the system on all the time year around. Put it in automatic mode and the fan in automatic mode. Then just adjust the temp dial SLIGHTLY when needed. Don't put the temp dial in the MAX or MIN setting. This is an automatic climate control system so take advantage of it.
