She really wants to please me, and is actually a very loving dog. I can't even give a concrete example of why I say she is dumb. She just doesn't have an intelligent way about her, I guess. She walks around with this blank look on her face most of the time that just makes her look like she should be getting on the short bus. I love her to death, but I just can't say she is the sharpest tool in the shed.

My terriers have just a completely different way about them, however. They always seem to be looking for something to do and learn (and get into trouble with, but we won't go there). Maybe it is just a difference in big dogs vs little dogs as before the lab the biggest dog I had ever had was a blue heeler.
