Ironically, I was just browsing through the forums and noticed your sig and realized I have a '72 280SEL with a 4.5 very close to home - in my grandfather's garage.

Are these really all that rare? I don't have anything to judge weather or not 8,000 built in 2 years or so is that rare.

Should I see about possibly restoring this car with him? I know that he drove it into hte garage one day many years ago when it rode perfectly, prepped it for paint, and has been sitting on hte jacks ever since.
