I was working on cars it seemed morning before work and night.
It became an obsession and after the dash fire a bit of a joke. My daughter's friend wrote in her yearbook "Hope your Dad buys a new car..".
I was starting to fix arcane things like dashboard lamps and and I actually took apart my Volvo sunroof 8 times to make it open and close properly and sit flush with the roof and to be able to vent. I came close to buying a new 300D 1985 because it had better paint and a cream interior and I was going to change out the tranny and engine. My wife made me return it.
When my daughter went and needed a car, i used it as an excuse to pick up two--a SAAB 9000 also.
Well when you have a support group like Diesel Forum, it became easy to justify. I remember reading about other guys similarly obsessed.
So I Locked myself out of my Carrameow account--on purpose and I cant get back in! Myabe I could contact the webmaster and get my access back..
BTW OCD doesnt stop with cars. Yesterday in the heat I took my ladder out and repainted a 3 inch strip of my house's trim below the roof using masking tape because I thought you could see the bleeds and runs from my hand painting it Saturday....
