You really have to whack it for a while. When you manage to knock out one pin with a nailset or a blunted nail or a small bolt, then use the same pin to knock out the other pins. works great, cause the end is the same size. Be careful not to break the collar on the end though, as that is what causes the fit when you put it back in.
